Quality Of Tone

This OM C has a particular flavour of tone. It is impressive immediately due to the extreme playability as well as ability to produce great sounds with no effort.  An open string ringing has complexities and subtleties that make it unique to the same note fretted. An overall complex soundscape of energy is evaporated through the soundboard with more brilliance and presence then bass and warmth. This creates what I can only compare to a piano like spectrum of tone paired with immaculate articulation. In a recording scenario the guitar cooperates in every-way it can, making it a very precise tool for producing high quality audio with effortless ease-ability.

An enthusiastic response to even the slightest of touch paired with sweet dark takings of Brazilian Rosewood. This instrument presents a colourful spectrum of traditional nuances enriched with clear defined flavours from the classical realm.  Servings of cathedral-like sound swimming in overtones, capable of inspiring an emotional connection with listeners and players.  This OO-R presents a full bodied sound with an even concert balance, full of rich overtones and strong supportive fundamental.. Truly an exquisite instrument with tremendous musical potential.

Power

∑𝑑 = (𝑑1+𝑑2+𝑑3+𝑑4+𝑑5+𝑑6+𝑑7+𝑑8+𝑑9+𝑑10+𝑑11)=19.8

P = 19.8 / T

The Ecstatic Guitar Theorem

Sincerity

This is an Astrand Guitars original design. The concept was to design a quintessential A OM-C utilizing some of Ted’s finest materials. This guitar was crafted in Ted Astrand’s shop in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Notion of Design

The vision was to craft the most intimate and comfortable fingerstyle instrument possible that married Teds luthiery experience with his finest materials.

I normally recommend the MadRose/Euro spruce combo for fingerstyle players that play in allot of open dropped tunings. I think the Madagascar gives a great clarity in the trebles which is rather nice when dropping the trebles. Works very nice in Dadgad etc.. Ted Astrand

Ted’s craftsmanship is extraordinarily clean. The lines all fit perfectly and are placed exactly where they need to be to create a complex  original subject that seconds as a music making machine. There is an immediate sense of respect for the builder from the moment you lay eyes on the guitar due to the flawless execution of the instrument. This is part of what makes an Astrand guitar so special.

The overall setup of the instrument is among the best I have ever played from any luthier. This is especially difficult to manage when a guitar travels across the seas. From my experience with this Astrand OM I would say Ted’s overall level of craftsmanship can only be compared to master luthiers in their prime.
